The Read-n-Draw workbooks are written to aid teachers and parents in teaching activities to reinforce reading for comprehension and perceptual motor skills. The Read-n-Draw worksheets can be used as stand-alone activities, or the complete workbook can be incorporated to compliment the skills and activities in the Creating Line Designs or Designs In Math series either at home or in the classroom.
The Read-n-Draw workbooks can be an excellent 'free time' activity, since the directions provided on each page allow students to complete the activities on their own after initial instruction has been given. Much like the Creating Line Designs and Designs In Math books the proper use of a straight edge is required for these activities.
If a student already has a foundation of following instructions, working with a pencil & ruler, and reading, starting with Read-n-Draw book most closely related to the grade level of the student is recommended (Book 1: 3rd to 5th & Book 2: 4th to 6th). If not, starting with Book 1, until the student has a solid foundation in the necessary skills is a better course of action.
All books are designed to aid classroom and home educators reinforce the basic fundamentals of reading for comprehension, coloring and straight edge use, so they make a great classroom or homeschool supplement.
Workbooks within the Fine Motor Skills Series are designed to stress ‘Sequential Thinking’ and after initial instruction, can be easily completed by students with little supervision other than comparing completed worksheets to the provided answer key.
The Read-n-Draw Books are designed to aid parents who are homeschooling and classroom teachers reinforce reading comprehension, following directions, and perceptual-motor abilities. The Read-n-Draw Books not only aid in the preceding areas, but also assist in teaching directional terminology and geometrical words and shapes with the terminology keys called 'Geometrical Shapes' & 'Stuff to Learn' provided at the beginning of each book.
