The Designs In Math Workbooks are designed to reinforce basic math skills, visual motor skills and hand-eye cooridination. These workbooks consist of a series of math worksheets which add creativity to basic math skill practice.
The Designs In Math worksheets move beyond Beginning Math Art in combining math practice and review with creativity and motor skill activities. The math skills necessary to complete these designs add a degree of dificulty to creating a design and make memorizing math facts more creative and can even make basic skills practice fun… This series incorporates the basic visual-motor skills present in the Creating Line Designs fine motor skils workbooks with math problems for a variety of grade levels, making them one of the most popular series from GoldenEd.Com
The Designs In Math series includes Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, and Fraction-Decimal Equivalents. The series begins with Designs In Math, Addition, which is intended for students in 3rd, 4th & 5th grade (or above), and concludes with Designs In Math, Fraction-Decimal Equivalents, which is intended for 5th, 6th and 7th grades through Adult Education.
If a student already has a foundation of following instructions, working with a pencil & ruler, and coloring, starting with the Designs In Math book closest to the math level of the student is recommended. If the student does not have the necessary fine motor skill, beginning with either Designs In Math, Addition, or Creating Line Designs, Book 1 to build the necessary fine motor skills is recommended.
All books are written to aid classroom and ‘at home educators’ in activities to reinforce math facts and fine motor skills. Worksheets may be used individually or as a ‘workbook set’. The best time to introduce the Designs In Math series is when a student is comfortable with the mathematical basics of the selected workbook.
During instructing, it is important to ensure proper use of a ruler or straight edge is addressed. (Tips included in each book.)
